Overview

What is dental care in India?

Dental value travel is planned dentistry and oral surgery at a high-volume centre — not a walk-in clinic holiday. Families come for implants, full-arch work, root canal under a specialist, and reconstruction after trauma or cancer. We match you to a JCI or NABH partner, list what the quote includes, and keep reports private until you approve a hospital.

Pathways

Types of dental care

Most files sit in one of these pathways. Your quote names the one on the reports — not a mixed brochure package.

  • 01

    Restorative

Crowns, bridges, fillings, and rebuilding teeth that still have a saveable root.

  • 02

    Implants & full arch

Single implants through All-on-4 / All-on-6 style full-mouth plans, staged if bone graft is needed.

  • 03

    Endodontics

Root canal and retreatment under a specialist, often in one or two visits before the crown.

  • 04

    Oral & maxillofacial

Wisdom teeth, cysts, jaw alignment, and reconstruction after injury or tumour surgery.

Treatments

Types of dental treatments

These are the procedures we coordinate most for patients travelling to India.

  1. 01

    Root canal treatment

Infection in the pulp cleared, canal sealed, then a crown so the tooth can take load again.

  2. 02

    Dental implants

Titanium fixture, healing window if needed, then the crown or bridge — named on the quote.

  3. 03

    Full-mouth rehabilitation

A sequenced plan for bite, implants or dentures, and aesthetics when many teeth have failed.

  4. 04

    Cosmetic dentistry

Veneers, alignment, and whitening at a hospital dental wing — not a high-street salon.

How MedMax runs a dental case

You do not need a finished hospital shortlist to start. Share what you have — letters, scans, or a short note — and a care manager maps the next clinical step for dental before any report leaves MedMax.

  1. 01

Same-day acknowledgement, specialist view targeted within two business days

  2. 02

Hospital shortlist by volume and accreditation for this pathway — not a brochure directory

  3. 03

Written quote with theatre, implants or drugs, ICU nights, and attendant stay listed

  4. 04

Visa letter, pickup, and Recovery nights only after you approve a match

Causes

Possible causes

  1. 01

Long-standing decay, cracked teeth, or failed fillings at home

  2. 02

Gum disease that has loosened teeth or exposed roots

  3. 03

Missing teeth after extraction, trauma, or cancer surgery

  4. 04

A bite that no longer meets after years of wear or grinding

  5. 05

Waiting lists or self-pay lists that make a full-arch plan unaffordable locally

Treated

Conditions treated

  • Severe decay and pulp infection
  • Missing or failing teeth
  • Periodontal (gum) disease
  • Jaw cysts and impacted wisdom teeth
  • Bite collapse and TMJ-related wear
  • Post-trauma or post-oncology reconstruction

Procedures

Common procedures

  • Root canal and retreatment
  • Single and multiple implants
  • All-on-4 / All-on-6 full arch
  • Crowns, bridges, and veneers
  • Bone graft and sinus lift
  • Wisdom tooth and cyst surgery

Why this pathway

Why is dental treatment needed?

  • 01

Infection in a tooth can spread; a root canal or extraction is often the only close.

  • 02

Missing teeth change how you chew and how the remaining teeth drift.

  • 03

A staged implant plan is cheaper to get right the first time than to revise later.

  • 04

Hospital theatres and maxillofacial teams matter when bone, sinus, or the jaw is involved.

Timing

When should you see a specialist?

  1. 01

Pain, swelling, or a tooth that wakes you at night

  2. 02

A loose tooth, pus, or a bad taste that does not clear

  3. 03

Several teeth already missing or crowned and the bite has collapsed

  4. 04

A GP or dentist at home has flagged implants, grafts, or jaw surgery

  5. 05

You want a second plan before committing to a full-arch quote at home

After the theatre

Precautions & aftercare

  • Soft diet and prescribed rinses after surgery — listed on the discharge note.
  • Implants may need a healing window before the final teeth; we plan the second visit if required.
  • Keep the same coordinator on WhatsApp for swelling, sutures, or a loose temporary.
  • A Recovery stay is useful if you are flying long-haul after multiple extractions or a full arch.

Questions

Before you pack

Broader India travel questions live on Medical, Wellness, and Ayurveda.

Can implants be done in one trip?

Sometimes, if bone is adequate and the surgeon agrees a same-week load. Many files need a healing window and a second visit for the final teeth. We say which before you book flights.

What does dental treatment cost in India?

The figure on this page is an indicative starting band, not a brochure package. After a specialist reads your reports we write a quote with theatre, implant or consumables, ICU and ward nights, and attendant stay listed separately. Estimates are marked as estimates.

How soon can we travel?

Most planned cases list a theatre window in weeks, not months — once reports are complete and you have approved a hospital. Visa timing depends on your passport and mission; we issue the invitation after you accept a quote.

Will the hospital see my reports before I say yes?

No. Files stay with MedMax until you approve a match. You can stop after a second opinion.

Can a family member stay with me?

Yes. Attendant beds and nearby stay are listed on the quote. After discharge we can arrange a Recovery stay if you need more days before the flight home.

Is this page medical advice?

This page is guidance for families planning care in India. Diagnosis and treatment decisions remain with your clinicians.
